National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
“The Canadian system is very complex and our medical education standards are among the highest in the world. In order to make sure that IMGs meet these standards, assessments need to be effective, objective, fair and transparent. CEHPEA is an important part of that process and has earned a reputation for the
validity andcredibility of its assessments and processes.”

The NAC OSCE has replaced CEHPEA's Clinical Examination 1 (CE1), which was unique to Ontario. CEHPEA's experts played a leadership role in the national initiative to create a standardized OSCE and ensure portability of credentials across the country.
Note: CE1 results will remain valid for 3 years. This applies to all the Certificates of Assessment from the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 application cycle. Click here for information on interpreting CE1 results.
Please note that selection of candidates will be the responsibility of the program directors of the respective residency programs at the Ontario universities' medical schools. CEHPEA is not involved in selection or placement of candidates.
All IMGs accepted in an Ontario Family Medicine Residency Program are required to take CEHPEA’s Pre-Residency Program.
