Assessing Readiness for Advanced Specialty Training

CEHPEA provides assessments for experienced physicians seeking access to Advanced-Level Training – Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY2) or Practice Ready Assessment (PRA) - in Ontario. Applicants with less than one year of postgraduate medical training in the specialty to which they are applying for assessment cannot be considered for PGY2 or PRA.

Successful PGY2 and PRA candidates may be assigned to one of the residency programs in Ontario, i.e., one of McMaster University, University of Ottawa, Queen's University, University of Toronto, University of Western Ontario or the Northern Ontario School of Medicine - such an assignment may include an educational experience in a satellite clinical teaching site associated with the respective program.

Applicants already in a residency training program or that have completed a residency training program in the province of Ontario are not eligible for PGY2 or PRA assessment.

Please note that selection of candidates will be the responsibility of the program directors of the respective residency programs at the Ontario universities' medical schools. CEHPEA is not involved in selection or placement of candidates.
